Job Title: Teaching Assistant 1-1 (Resource base)
Contract: Fixed term (for the length of time the child is at school)
Salary: Scale 3 £24,790.00 - £25,183.00 FTE pro rata is £16,762.53 - £17,028.27
Hours: 29.25 hours per week (8.40 am to 3.15 pm - Monday to Friday)
Start date: 01/09/2025

Vale View Primary School currently has an exciting vacancy for a proactive and effective Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to work on a one to one basis supporting a child in our Resource Base. The position will start 1st September 2025 and will be fixed term. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a primary school and hold a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this. You will be predominantly working within our Resource Base and with a child with special educational needs and will work with our caring and dedicated team to support the child’s learning and social development by providing high quality learning opportunities and care.

About you:
You will hold a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this
You will have successful experience of working in school setting and ideally within a Resource Base or specialist provision
You will have a good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum
You will have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and have experience of working to support children who have special educational needs
You will have excellent literacy (Level 2 qualification), numeracy and IT skills
You will be committed, motivated, proactive and flexible
You will enjoy working as part of a team
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with parents, staff and outside agencies
You will have a sound knowledge of safeguarding
