Job summary

GSL Education is hiring a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEMH needs in a welcoming primary school in the M8 area of Manchester. This full-time role focuses on helping the learner overcome barriers to education and build positive self-esteem in the classroom.

You will provide dedicated 1:1 academic, emotional, and social support, implement regulation strategies, and collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication, patience, and de-escalation skills.
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent background in youth/care work) preferred.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Contract Type: Full-Time

Salary: £92.68 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a welcoming primary school in the M8 area.
