Job summary

Distinction Education Ltd is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Worcester. You’ll support children at the start of their learning journey, helping develop early academic, communication and social skills foundational for future learning.

You’ll be involved in early phonics and number work, play-based and structured learning, and small-group support, promoting independence and positive routines in a nurturing Reception environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with early phonics and number work is a plus.
• Background in EYFS, Reception or primary teaching support is desirable.
• Able to work with children in small groups and one-to-one settings.

You’ll be supporting children at the very beginning of their school journey, helping them develop the early academic, communication and social skills that provide the foundations for future learning.

Do I Need Previous School Experience?

Previous Reception, EYFS or primary school experience would be desirable, but we are open to candidates who have developed relevant experience working with children outside of schools.

You might currently work, or have previously worked, within a nursery, preschool, childcare setting, children’s centre, holiday club, youth organisation, sports coaching environment or another organisation supporting children.

We’re interested in the experience and transferable skills you can bring to the classroom.
