Job summary

Nova Training in Willenhall is hiring a part-time Teaching Assistant (28 hours per week). You will support learners with special educational needs, assist in the classroom and on outdoor activities, and help with progress reporting to tutors and parents.

The ideal candidate has strong English and Maths knowledge, at least 1 year of TA experience, a relevant SEN qualification, and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths.
• Minimum 1 year of Teaching Assistant experience in education.
• Relevant qualification or training in Special Education.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons and interventions.
• Produce daily learner progress reports and identify barriers to learning.
• Communicate with parents/caregivers on a regular basis.
• Assist in dealing with behavioural difficulties and motivate students.
• Support planning and assessment, and contribute to lessons and trips.

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new role?

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Teaching Assistant.

As a Teaching Assistant you will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs and will be committed to ensuring that all students have access to high quality education and support. Through this you will also be required to work closely with the tutors providing assistance in the classroom as well as on any outdoor activities/trips.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in the preparation and also the delivery of the lessons/interventions for the day
• Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning.
• Interaction with parents/caregivers on a regular basis.
• Assist in dealing with any behavioural difficulties that may occur
• Be able to motivate, challenge and inspire students to achieve their best
• Contribute to our core vision and values
• Be able to work independently and as part of a strong and cohesive team

Requirements

• Have strong subject knowledge within English and Maths
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Teaching Assistant in an education setting.
• Relevant Qualification/training in Special Education.
• Previous experience of working with learners who have an EHCP would be beneficial.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Have vision, innovation and passion for teaching and learning.
• Help us to build on already good results
• Be confident to support with planning and assessing, be creative and proactive
• Full, clean UK Driving License
