Job description

Supply Hive Wales are currently working with primary schools across Cardiff and assisting with their recruitment process for positions starting in the new academic year (2025/2026). We are looking for full-time Teaching Assistants to join our team who are dedicated to supporting children throughout their education.

The successful candidate will support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education and contribute to the personal and academic development of pupils aged 4–11.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is committed to nurturing and inspiring young learners.
Responsibilities

  • Support classroom teachers with the delivery of high-quality lessons
  • Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning
  • Help prepare learning materials and classroom resources
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils as needed
  • Assist with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supervise students during non-classroom times including lunch, break, and school trips
  • Communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and parents
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Enhanced DBS check and registered with the EWC (or willingness to obtain one)
