Teaching Assistant - Secondary School
Location: Walsall
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about education and eager to build a rewarding career in teaching?

Teaching Personnel is working with a mainstream secondary school in Walsall to appoint a positive, reliable, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This full-time role offers the opportunity to support vulnerable pupils and children with special educational needs, while gaining valuable experience within a school environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the class teacher to ensure the smooth running of the classroom

  • Working with children on a one-to-one and small group basis, providing tailored support to enhance their learning and development

  • Delivering targeted interventions to support pupils' progress

  • Assisting with administrative tasks, including organising resources for lessons

  • Adapting support to meet the changing needs of pupils each day

  • Collaborating with teachers to follow children's Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) where required

  • Supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and behavioural challenges

Who we're looking for:

  • Recent experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar support role within a school or education setting

  • Aspiring teachers keen to gain practical classroom experience

  • Experience working with children in any capacity (e.g., sports coaching, after-school clubs, volunteering)

  • Genuine enthusiasm and passion for making a positive difference in education

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
