Term Time Teachers are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support young people with SEN in an independent Edenbridge school. You will assist pupils with autism or SEMH, working across on-site settings or community venues to facilitate access to education and social participation.
You will collaborate with teachers, therapists and families, monitor progress, and tailor approaches to each child’s needs while maintaining safeguarding and professional standards.
About the role: We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join an independent SEN school in Edenbridge supporting young people with an Autism or Mental Health diagnosis. You will support students in overcoming the challenges they face in accessing their education and the social world around them within their own homes or a nominated work space such as a local library. The aim is to support young people in reaching their potential through both emotional, practical and educational support, whilst tailoring our approach for each individual’s specific needs. Successful Teaching Assistant will be passionate about the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to engage students, inspiring them with a desire to learn whilst having a sound knowledge of SEMH.
The goal is: To provide students with the confidence and resilience to meet the challenges that act as barriers to their education and impact upon successful outcomes in their everyday lives.
