Job summary

Thornton College invites applications for a part-time Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The role is 17.25 hours per week, term-time only (41 weeks), with shifts 7:45am–2:00pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Desirable Level 3 qualification but not essential, with duties including Breakfast club, Lunchtime and After School supervision. The school has an outstanding ISI rating and a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Job description

To start in November, we are looking to appoint a part-time Learning Support Assistant, (3 days per week), term time only. The role will include Breakfast club, Lunchtime and After School Supervision. A level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.

Our 2024 CSI Inspection judged the school to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas and our most recent (2025) ISI Inspection commented positively on the ‘rapid’ academic progress made by students across the school and the ‘high levels of self-esteem and self-confidence' evident in the student body. We are accredited by both NACE and the British Council (International Schools Award) and in 2025 was shortlisted as Independent Girls School of the Year. 17.25 hours per week, 41 weeks per year.

• 7:45am -2pm (3 days per week) Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Salary: Actual term time only salary £8,946.00 gross per annum (£27,016.00 FTE paid for 41 weeks 33.115%)
