About The Role

Monarch Education is proud to be working with a welcoming school in the Stockport area, seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join their passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, empathetic, and confident in managing behaviours associated with Autism.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Autism and SEMH needs
• Assist with the implementation and monitoring of EHCPs tailored to students with ASC
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through proactive strategies
• Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and building confidence
• Aid in the development of social and emotional skills in a safe, supportive environment
• Support classroom management and encourage positive peer interactions
  
  

Candidate Profile

It is essential that candidates have previous experience working specifically with children or young people with Autism. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ASC and be confident in supporting students with their unique needs. You should be patient, empathetic, and capable of managing behaviours linked to Autism, providing emotional support and fostering independence.
