Job description

We are looking for a kind, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils across the school.

This is an ideal role for someone passionate about helping children thrive, whether you're experienced or just starting your journey in education. Beginning April 2025.

Duties as a Teaching Assistant:

1. Support pupils in lessons, both 1:1 and in small groups.
2. Assist teachers in preparing classroom materials and resources.
3. Provide learning and emotional support, particularly for pupils with additional needs.
4. Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive attitudes to learning.
5. Supervise pupils during break, lunch, and other transition times as required.
6. Support the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding practices.

Ideal Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
• A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or willingness to train).
• Good literacy, numeracy, and communication skills as a Teaching Assistant.
• A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
• The ability to work well within a team and on your own initiative.
