Job summary

Five Education Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced special school in Yeovil. You will support children with a range of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and speech and language needs, and adapt activities to pupil's individual needs.

The role is full-time with a 7-hour day and a 30-minute unpaid lunch; pay rate is £15.42 per hour, paid via PAYE with holiday pay.

Job description

An excellent, well-resourced special school in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant. You may have worked as a support worker, in‑class support worker or a Learning Support Advisor (LSA) previously. You may have a related qualification or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience. You would be able to support children with the range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments and behavioural difficulties. The school has great feedback from parents and supply staff. The staff team are supportive and welcoming. The school is easily accessible by public transport. The school needs people who can commit to 5 days a week. If you are experienced and able to work full time this can be reflected in your rate of pay. You will need to be confident in adapting the lesson activity according to pupil's individual needs. You will be confident in creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment in which pupils can achieve and thrive.

The pay rate is £15.42* an hour. The day is 7 hours with an unpaid 30 min lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £100.30* but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience. *Including holiday pay
