Job summary

Teach Midlands is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the learning of children. You will work with pupils on an individual, group or whole-class basis, helping access activities and supporting teachers with feedback and record-keeping.

The role involves working with children with special educational needs, promoting social and emotional well-being, and tailoring support to individual needs. A first aid qualification is preferred or willingness to obtain one, and safeguarding

Qualifications

  • Have experience of working in a school in a similar role.
  • Have experience of working with children with special educational needs.
  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities within the classroom, in small groups or 1:1, as necessary.
  • Support pupils with their social and emotional needs.
  • Support our teachers by providing feedback and maintaining records.
  • Value the diversity of individuals.
  • Recognise that children have very different and individual needs and be able to tailor your provision accordingly.
  • Be able to motivate and encourage children on an individual basis and as part of a group.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a first aid qualification.
  • Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children you are responsible for or come into contact with, in accordance with school procedures.
  • Open to be a first aider – attend training if necessary.

Job description

A Teaching Assistant to join our team to support the learning of children. You will work with the children on an individual, group or whole class basis and support the school as required by the Phase Leader and Director of Inclusion.
