Teaching Assistant

A Teaching Assistant is needed in a Mixed Secondary School in Portsmouth.

This will be a full time, long term Teaching Assistant post.

Working hours at the school for a Teaching Assistant are 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant role will include but not be limited to:

* Supporting identified students in 1:1, group or whole class situations
* Working with the teachers to ensure each student's learning needs are identified
* Leading small group sessions and interventions
* Attending to students' personal needs when required
* Supporting behaviour management and using appropriate strategies in line with academy policy
* Undertaking learning activities/teaching programmes when needed

The rates of pay for this Teaching Assistant position will be between GBP90 to GBP100 a day, depending on the qualifications and experiences of each applicant.

It is a mixed, 11 - 18, non-selective school with a wide demographic of pupils and staff.

Requirements

You are also welcome if you are a British trained Teaching Assistant or overseas trained Teaching Assistant.

* Right to work in the UK
* Clear and up to date Enhanced DBS
* UK Bachelor's Degree or overseas equivalent
* Experience of working with children/young people from the ages of 11 to 18 or as a Teaching Assistant in UK schools
