Job summary

Cambian is recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants to join Southlands School, a specialist day and residential school for children and young people aged 7-19 with autism. The role is 37 hours per week, term time only, based in the New Forest area.

You will support pupils with behavioural challenges, provide structured care under our multidisciplinary team, and help create a safe, supportive learning environment. Salary £20,974.04 per annum; DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the process.

We are now recruiting for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our committed team!

Southlands School is an Ofsted-registered co-education specialist day and residential school with a registered children’s home.We provide education and care, supported by our multi-disciplinary clinical team, for children and young people aged 7-19 years who have a primary diagnosis of Autism or whose profile of need can be successfully supported by the use of autism specialist strategies.

The school is in the heart of the New Forest National Park, a beautiful location which is also close to the coast.

• Have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference in people’s lives.
• The young people that you will be working with, have behavioural problems and have experienced trauma and so we would require an individual who will bring positive commitment to young people and has an awareness of their issues.
• Be punctual and flexible.
• Be well-organised, adaptable and practical.
• Able to work under pressure, sometimes in stressful and challenging situations
• Self-motivated and be able to use own initiative.
