Job summary

Southlands School in Lymington, Hampshire, is recruiting Teaching Assistants to join a committed team supporting pupils aged 7-19 with autism. The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, paying £20,974.04 per annum, with opportunities for training and development.

The ideal candidate will be punctual, adaptable, well-organised, and capable of handling challenging situations while showing compassion and a genuine desire to help young people progress.

Teaching Assistant

Southlands School, Lymington, Hampshire

37 Hours per week (Monday to Friday -Term Time Only)

£20,974.04per annum

We are now recruiting for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our committed team!

Southlands School is an Ofsted-registered co-education specialist day and residential school with a registered children’s home.We provide education and care, supported by our multi-disciplinary clinical team, for children and young people aged 7-19 years who have a primary diagnosis of Autism or whose profile of need can be successfully supported by the use of autism specialist strategies.

The school is in the heart of the New Forest National Park, a beautiful location which is also close to the coast.

Required:

• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/Level 4/5)

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference in people’s lives.
• The young people that you will be working with, have behavioural problems and have experienced trauma and so we would require an individual who will bring positive commitment to young people and has an awareness of their issues.
• Be punctual and flexible.
• Be well-organised, adaptable and practical.
• Able to work under pressure, sometimes in stressful and challenging situations
• Self-motivated and be able to use own initiative.
