About the Role
In this varied and fulfilling role, you’ll work across the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 in a supportive and inclusive primary school. The position focuses on supporting pupils with additional learning needs, both within mainstream classrooms and in specialist ALN settings.
You will provide one-to-one and small group support, help deliver tailored learning activities, and contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities
Provide focused 1:1 and small group support for children with additional learning needs
Encourage pupil independence while offering personal care support when required
Support positive behaviour strategies and help maintain a calm, inclusive classroom
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents and school staff
Assist with lesson preparation and learning activities tailored to individual needs
Ensure pupils with ALN are supported, engaged, and included in all aspects of school life
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, strategies for supporting pupils with ALN
A patient, caring and flexible approach to supporting children’s needs
Confidence in managing behaviours in a calm and positive way
A collaborative attitude and willingness to be part of a close-knit school team
A valid driving licence and access to transport (preferred but not essential)
