Job description

Learning Support Assistant – LSA in an SEND school – New Milton

Start – September

Pay - £80-£100

Part Time and Full Time Roles available

8.30 till 3.30pm

About the school:

  • A large 3 form entry
  • Oftsed rated “Good” school
  • A keen focus on using outdoor area and giving back to a more rural community
  • Creative Curriculum focus making links between subjects

Duties vary widely but can include:

  • Helping with pupils learning and development
  • Supporting those with ASC, SEMH and trauma
  • Keeping records of each pupil’s progress
  • Assisting with their health and hygiene
  • Helping students develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook

The Successful candidate will:

  • Have some understanding of trauma and supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Have a good standard of literacy, numeracy skills
  • Build up positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Understand or be willing to learn how children develop, think and learn
  • Be resilient and patient when working with groups of children or on a one to one basis
  • Have experience in a similar role or have a passion to learn the skills above
