ASD Teaching Assistant – Maidenhead

Location: Maidenhead

Start Date: ASAP / September 2024

Salary: £94 - £100 per day

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education is looking for a compassionate and proactive ASD Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a specialist or mainstream setting in Maidenhead. This role is ideal for someone with experience in autism support, SEN strategies, and behaviour management, who can provide structured and nurturing assistance to help students thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD.
• Implement structured learning techniques to enhance engagement.
• Assist with sensory regulation and behaviour management.
• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to tailor learning strategies.
• Support students in developing independence, confidence, and communication skills.

Requirements

• Experience working with ASD or SEN students (school or care setting).
• Understanding of behavioural and sensory needs.
• Patient, adaptable, and able to use a structured approach.
• A collaborative team player, comfortable working with staff and families.
