As a Teaching Assistant in one of Croydon's Alternative Provision (AP) schools, you'll be instrumental in supporting students who have been excluded from mainstream education. Our AP schools offer a nurturing and inclusive approach to both educational and social development, aided by a dynamic in-house therapy team. Students receive access to a range of therapeutic supports-including play, music, drama, art, family, and LEGO therapy-to address individual needs holistically.
In this role, you will work closely with students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, alongside associated behaviours that can be demanding. Many students also have co-existing needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech, language, and communication difficulties, and severe social anxieties. Your support will be critical in helping students rebuild their confidence, develop life skills, and successfully re-engage in their education.
