Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student at a mainstream secondary school in the Formby area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact on a pupil's learning journey and overall school experience.

The role involves providing one-to-one support to a student, helping them to access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential social and academic skills. While the student is in a mainstream setting, there may be some minor SEN needs to be aware of and support with.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing tailored support to a single student both in the classroom and during independent work.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson planning and resource preparation for the student.
  • Helping the student to navigate social situations and build positive relationships with peers.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the student ??s progress and well-being.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar child-focused role.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm, positive demeanor.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting a student ??s individual needs.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Legal RTW in the UK and willing to work long-term full-time for 5 days a week.
