Job description

Teaching Assistant - Permanent Role Starting June 2025

Location: East Riding Based Secondary Academy

Salary: £24,790 FTE (actual salary £16,604), term time only plus 2 days

The Role

A secondary academy in the East Riding of Yorkshire seeks to appoint a Teaching Assistant as soon as possible. The successful candidate will provide specific assistance to children with special educational needs within the school environment and during school outings. You will support teaching staff in managing these students and demonstrate understanding of their difficulties, implementing strategies to enable them to fulfill their potential and participate fully in the National Curriculum and school life.

The School

An East Riding-based secondary academy located approximately six miles west of Hull. The academy is part of a large multi-academy trust that benefits from collaborative practice and leadership.

Requirements
  • GCSE grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in Maths and English
  • Experience working with young people
  • Pro-active attitude
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification and experience are desirable but not essential

This role may be offered on a 'temp to perm' basis, initially working as a supply teacher via Vision For Education before transitioning to a permanent contract with the academy.
