Job summary

UCM Recruitment is seeking 2 Teaching Assistants for a specialist SEMH school in Hounslow. You will support younger children in a small, structured and nurturing classroom environment alongside an experienced Teacher.

We value patience, resilience and confidence in supporting SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. This role is full-time, with a trial week and an ASAP start after successful trial.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Confidence supporting children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
• Full-time availability Monday to Friday.
• Availability to attend a trial this week.
• Availability to start ASAP following a successful trial.
• Ability to commit to 5 days per week.
• Sponsorship cannot be provided and 20-hour restrictions cannot be accommodated.

Responsibilities

• Support younger children with SEMH needs in a small class of no more than 8 pupils.
• Work alongside an experienced Teacher and another Teaching Assistant.
• Build positive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries and routines.
• Support children with their learning, behaviour and emotional development.
• Help create a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment.

• Working alongside an experienced Teacher and another Teaching Assistant
• Building positive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries and routines
• Supporting children with their learning, behaviour and emotional development
• Helping create a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment

We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient, confident and passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs. Previous experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs or within a specialist school setting is highly desirable.

You will need:
