Teaching Assistant - Primary

Location: Horsham

Pay: £82.20-£96.40 per day

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

Contract Type: Full-time

Supply Desk is a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary and SEND education. We place our teaching staff in both day-to-day and long-term placements across numerous Primary and Secondary schools in Sussex.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support primary schools in Horsham. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils, including those with SEN, tailoring approaches to their individual learning needs.
  2. Create a positive, inclusive environment that promotes well-being and development for every student.
  3. Manage challenging behaviour using appropriate de-escalation techniques.
  4. Work collaboratively with staff and adapt to different school environments.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (including Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties) is highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Current DBS registered with the Update Service or willingness to apply.
