Your Role:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment. Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual student needs.
  • Implementing and contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Fostering the development of students' self-esteem, independence, and social skills.
  • Employing positive behaviour management strategies to support a calm and productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

About You:

We are looking for individuals with:

  • A genuine desire to work with young people with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, understanding, and a calm and encouraging demeanour.
  • The ability to be proactive, flexible, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent). Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special needs is advantageous but not essential for those with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • The opportunity for ongoing professional development and training.
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • The chance to be part of a dedicated team making a real difference in the community.
  • Both full-time and part-time positions are available to suit your circumstances.
