Job description

Vision for Education are currently seeking a full time Teaching Assistant for an SEN school based in Bournemouth. This is for a full time, temporary to permanent position starting ASAP. You MUST have experience within an education setting to be considered, preferably with SEN/SEMH children.

You will be skilled at engaging and motivating students who find learning and communicating a challenge in both the classroom and during intervention sessions.

Full time.

Salary - £17 (Apply online only) - £19 (Apply online only)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with and support pupils who require additional support.
  • Help pupils to develop into independent learners to ensure they make good progress with their learning, as well as emotional well-being.
  • Support pupils to access tasks and activities that they find challenging.
  • Provide one to one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist the Teacher in implementing lesson plans and adapting materials.
  • Support and work with teacher in testing/assessment.
  • In conjunction with teacher, liaise with parents and pupil progress.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive SEN experience.
  • Has experience with SEMH students, is knowledgeable and has experience in supporting children with complex needs.
  • Is confident to work with students with social, emotional and mental health and challenging behaviour.
  • Is enthusiastic and dedicated, with a passion for working with pupils who require additional support with their education.
  • Has experience in engaging with students who demonstrate behaviour and communication needs.
  • Has a strong background in English and Maths.
