Job summary

TipTopJob is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN school in North West London to support pupils aged with SEN from September 2026. You will work with teachers and professionals to help pupils access learning and build confidence in a personalised, nurturing environment.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, assisting with both in-class and off-site activities, and adapting approaches to meet individual needs while promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting young people with SEN is desirable.
  • Patience, resilience and compassion in interacting with pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork to collaborate with teachers and school staff.

A specialist SEN school in North West London is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team from September 2026.

The school supports young people who may have experienced challenges or disruption within their education and require a personalised, nurturing approach to help them re:engage with learning. The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individualised support both inside and outside the classroom. You will help pupils access learning, develop positive relationships and build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Providing 1:1 and small:group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting pupils to engage with lessons and learning activities
  • Helping young people develop confidence, independence and resilience
  • Adapting your approach to meet individual learning and emotional needs
  • Supporting positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing
  • Building strong and trusting relationships with young people
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team
  • Supporting pupils with educational activities both on and off site
