Overview

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our Mathematics and Support for Learning Departments to provide targeted support in Mathematics to pupils in Years 5-8. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and wants to make a tangible impact on students' progress and confidence in Maths.


Responsibilities


  • Assist in the delivery of engaging and effective Mathematics lessons.

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for students needing extra help.

  • Help prepare resources and classroom materials to enhance learning.

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to the teaching staff.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support classroom management and behaviour as required.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Strong numeracy skills and confidence in assisting with Mathematics up to Key Stage 3.

  • Previous experience in a school environment or working with children (desirable but not essential).

  • A willingness to undertake further training to gain a dyscalculia qualification.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire students.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting both students and teachers.
