Job description

Due to expansion, the new Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team at Unsted Park School & Sixth Form are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join our Education team now!

About the role

We are seeking versatile, resilient, and committed individuals who can adapt their practice to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting small groups of children with their work and supporting pupil behaviour, while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model, and responding to individual needs.

This position is Monday to Friday, term-time only. A school lift/taxi service is available from Guildford Train Station if required.

About Unsted Park School

Our school has an Ofsted rating of Good with Outstanding features. Situated in a beautiful semi-rural setting with 44 acres of grounds, we are a SEN school specializing in education and care for children and young people aged 7 to 19 diagnosed on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. Role responsibilities

As a TA/LSA, you will collaborate with class teachers to support young people across various subjects and communication techniques. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

  • Resilience: Supporting vulnerable children with emotional, behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD, and related challenges requires resilience.
  • Communication: Effective communication is vital to understand and meet the needs of our young people, with good teamwork essential for relaying information.
  • Organisation: Strong organizational skills are necessary to support educational activities and assist the class teacher and students.
  • Caring: A naturally caring and compassionate attitude is essential.
  • Attentiveness: Being attentive to tasks and identifying areas for support are crucial, as no two tasks are the same.
