Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
Location: LE8, Leicestershire
Pay: 90- 100 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: August 2025 (Interviews taking place now)
Contract: Long Term to Permanent

Do you have a genuine desire to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in their education?

A welcoming, Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Leicestershire is seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students aged 4-16 with SEMH needs.

Role Overview:

You will work closely with teachers and support staff, providing consistent encouragement and guidance to students to help them develop emotional regulation, resilience and confidence in their learning journey.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver focused 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies to encourage emotional management and engagement.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and calm classroom environment.
  • Support students in developing independence and key life skills.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to help remove barriers to learning.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH or Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable.
  • You have a patient, caring and proactive approach to supporting young people.
  • Confident in using strong communication skills to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Passionate about helping students reach their full potential.
