Job description

Rikama Education Ltd is currently working with a SEN school located on the West Sussex/East Sussex/Kent border, seeking to recruit Teaching Assistants to support teaching and learning in the classroom.

Ideally, candidates will have experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant with students and supporting a range of additional needs, particularly autism and SEMH.

Qualifications should include at least Level 3 (or working towards a TA qualification), along with good literacy and numeracy skills, and the motivation and patience to support children with special needs.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment
2. Liaising with the lead teacher in preparing the classroom
3. Supporting children with special educational needs and diverse learning styles
4. Tracking and monitoring student progression
5. Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures

Essential requirements:

• Experience working with children or young adults
• Knowledge of working with additional needs such as ASD (Autism) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
• The right to work in the UK without sponsorship
