Job description

We at Axcis have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, permanent teaching assistant role in Taunton. This SEN school focuses on providing a safe and supportive environment for children aged 5-18 who have had difficulty accessing mainstream education. The school aims to equip students with the skills needed to succeed in the outside world while respecting their individuality. The school values environmental awareness in its learning approach and empowering students with practical skills.

The position is available from September on a long-term or temp-perm basis. Experience in a SEND setting or school-based experience is preferred. Candidates should be capable of managing challenging behaviour and de-escalating situations. No formal qualifications are required, but relevant skills or qualifications are a plus. A DBS check on the update service is essential, which can be arranged through us. The pay rate starts at £14.66 per hour.
