We are seeking to appoint and develop an enthusiastic temporary full-time Teaching Assistant. This term time post is temporary to start on 1st September for one year, subject to a probationary period.
The position is to support children with a variety of learning difficulties and some physical disabilities. A knowledge of manual handling procedures would be advantageous. We are proud of the opportunity staff are given to experience a wide range of professional learning opportunities and this post should appeal to an aspirational Teaching Assistant who loves the excitement of enhancing pupils’ lives.
Corpus Christi is an over-subscribed Catholic 11-16 mixed comprehensive school of over 1000 pupils housed in buildings on the edge of Cardiff. Examination results are well above national average.
Additional Needs provision at Corpus Christi has increased substantially in recent years and the department is continually developing. If appointed, you will join a very successful and thriving department.

This post is subject to a Disclosure Barring Service Enhanced Check and under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
It is desirable that you are a Catholic to work at Corpus Christi but if you are not, you will need to feel comfortable working in a Christian environment.
Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body.
This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement which brings pay rates up to £12 per hour (scp 2 - 4). This supplement will be reviewed in January 2024 and thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
