Job summary

Academics is seeking a motivated individual for a Secondary Teaching Assistant role in Cardiff. You will support teachers, prepare learning resources, and help manage class behaviour to foster a positive classroom environment.

The position starts 1 September 2026 with potential to become a permanent contract. Pay ranges £93-£105 per day, with benefits including a streamlined registration process and a refer-a-friend scheme.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive learning environment where pupils want to learn and complete work.
• Prepare resources and carry out administrative tasks
• Produce feedback to the class teacher by outlining positive/negative behaviours, achievements, and any concerning issues
• Upholding school policies and procedures related to child protection, health and confidentiality
• Through interaction, establish trust with pupils by tailoring to individual needs

These secondary teaching assistant opportunites will give a motivated individual vital experience for potential PGCE applicants. Secondary schools in Cardiff are looking for motivated individuals who are able to build quick and effective relationships with pupils. You will be expected to prepare the classroom, provide extra support to pupils, and support the teacher in managing class behaviour. These role commence on the 1st September 2026.
