Job summary

Newstaff Employment is seeking enthusiastic Supply Cover Teaching Assistants to support various schools across Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. This flexible role involves assisting teachers and providing support to students, with opportunities for both short-term and long-term placements. Ideal candidates will have experience working with children and be available for at least 2–3 days per week.

Newstaff Employment Services is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join our growing pool of supply staff. We work with a wide range of primary, secondary, and SEND schools across the region, providing both short-term and long-term cover.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting teachers in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour

Assisting pupils with their learning, individually or in small groups

Helping to prepare and maintain classroom materials and resources

Providing one-to-one or small group support to pupils with additional needs

Supervising children during break times and transitions

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children in an educational or care setting

A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting learning

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one

Availability for at least 2–3 days per week
