At OFG, we work smarter so you can spend more time doing what makes you happy!
How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four*?
Our colleagues’ wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we’re always looking for new ways to improve everyone’s work/life balance. We’re taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).
4DWW will be rolled out within our school, when we have a full complement of staff, and within the next year – so there’s never been a more exciting time to join us #teamOFG!
As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Hambrook School, part of Options Autism.
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Our New Options School - Hambrook School is located in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, near the border with East Sussex. Brighton and Hove are a short drive away, northeast of Chichester.
Our aim is to help pupils excel by providing a structured, nurturing approach, with students accessing a broad, balanced, engaging, and rich curriculum.
The opportunity
Enjoy a rewarding education career and have a real impact on pupils and young people’s lives. Join an amazing team creating supportive, nurturing environments where our pupils achieve far more than they ever expected.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant pupils and young people we care for, helping to ensure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has a diagnosis of Autism and may have additional needs. They have much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys bespoke to them.
You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with hands-on experience and supervision. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting their development and engagement.
You will face challenges and overcome them as you flourish and thrive, sharing your skills and learning from others as your career progresses.
Every day will be different, but you will have support, with skills, experience, advice, and guidance to draw on.
Who we are looking for
You should be adaptable and ready to work in various classroom roles, indoors and outside, based on individual needs. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may run classroom activities, lead outdoor experiences, or supervise pupils exploring further afield.
Our schools are built on teamwork and mutual support. If you enjoy working as part of a dedicated team, sharing knowledge and experience, please fill in our safeguarding-compliant application form, and a team member will be in touch.
