Job summary

Classroom Support is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a large Primary school near Biggin Hill to support in their SEN provision. You will work with EHCP pupils across ASD to severe learning difficulties, in a school-based setting from Early Years to KS2.

The role runs 8:30–15:45, term-time only, with pay around £85+ per day. Essential: experience with challenging behaviour, ability to build bonds with pupils, and a compassionate yet firm approach to behaviour management.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties.
• Ability to build bonds with pupils who find learning difficult.
• Experience in a Primary School or SEN setting is advantageous.
• Firm when necessary with behaviour management, yet compassionate.
• Experience with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome is advantageous.
• DBS update service or willingness to pay for a new Enhanced DBS with clear Children's barred list check.

Responsibilities

Job description

Classroom support are excited to be working with a large Primary school near Biggin Hill who are looking to recruit a large number of SEN Teaching Assistants to support in their SEN provision. The new provision is opening is receiving a large number of EHCP statemented children with a range of specialist support needs.

You will be based in the school for the remainder of the academic year, at minimum, working with pupils with needs ranging from ASD to Moderate and Severe Learning difficulties. The school have a high number of SEN children and range from Early Years up to latter KS2. You will then move into the new school provision to continue support your 1:1 pupil in a brand new learning provision.

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.45pm and the pay is between £90+ per day. Term time only.

It is essential that you have some of the the below experience:

Experience of supporting childrenwith challenging behaviour associated with their learning difficulties.

A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with pupilsthat find learning difficult due to their own complex Learning Difficulties and SEN support needs.

Experience of working in either a Primary School, SEN unitor care setting highly advantageous.

Being of a firm nature when necessary with behaviourmanagement, but also compassionate and sensitive to others.

Any experience of working with children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, Down Syndrome is highly advantageous.

The rate of pay is £85+ per day for the right candidate.

You must.

Be able to commit to the working hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm.

Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for a new Enhanced DBS that has a clear Children's barred list check.
