Job summary

The Witherslack Group is hiring a Teaching Assistant for our Castlefell School in Bath, Somerset. You will support children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them learn, develop abilities and raise self-esteem.

You’ll work closely with teachers and therapists, remain resilient, and celebrate the huge small victories as you contribute to a supportive, well-resourced learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people in education preferred.
  • Ability to remain resilient and dedicated in a challenging environment.
  • Commitment to supporting learners with SEND and building self-esteem.

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs to learn and develop their abilities.
  • Help raise pupils' self-esteem and confidence in a classroom setting.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver targeted support and learning activities.
  • Contribute to a positive, well-resourced school environment and participate in training and development.

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. One of the best environments in SEND

Our new Castlefell School is a purpose built, brand new, state of the art school, catering primarily for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs but also providing for children with autism who have moderate learning needs. The school provides education for up to 50 children aged 8 to 16.

This new exciting opportunity serves Rudgeway and the wider communities, you are at the heart of its development. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil has an outstanding educational experience with individual pupil progress and care at the heart of what is offered.
