Job summary

Milk Education are working on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Alnwick who are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

The role will predominantly involve supporting children across KS1, with a particular focus on delivering and supporting targeted interventions to help children make progress.

The role

• Supporting pupils across KS1
• Delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions
• Helping children develop their literacy and numeracy skills
• Supporting pupils in the classroom and during independent work
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
• Providing encouragement and helping children build confidence

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children in a school or similar setting
• Has a good understanding of KS1
• Is confident supporting literacy and numeracy interventions
• Is patient, nurturing and encouraging
• Can build positive relationships with pupils
• Is reliable and able to commit to the role

Experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable, but we're also happy to consider candidates with recent and relevant childcare or education experience.
