Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire (DE55)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: 90- 100 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Long Term Futures are looking for a committed and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Alfreton. You'll be working with pupils aged 2 to 19 who have complex learning difficulties, including autism and other developmental needs. This role involves working closely with teachers and therapists to help students achieve their individual learning goals in a safe, engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering tailored learning plans to meet individual pupil needs
Provide social and emotional support to pupils throughout the school day
Use communication tools such as PECS and Makaton effectively
Support the wider teaching team and contribute to a positive classroom environment
Promote inclusion and ensure a safe and supportive setting for all pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs
A calm, patient, and empathetic nature
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Familiarity with SEN strategies and communication methods (PECS, Makaton, etc.)
Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undertake training
