Job description

We have an exciting new role to join the course team for the new MSc in Health Service Improvement and Evaluation (MSc HSIE). The MSc HSIE is a full-time, face-to-face course over 12 months.

This unique MSc is led by the Health Systems Collaborative research group in collaboration with the Nuffield Department of Medicine's Centre for Global Health Research at the University of Oxford. The MSc HSIE is in final stages of course development and will enrol its first cohort in autumn 2025.

We are looking for an experienced professional in health research and/or practice with a passion for health service improvement and evaluation. You will work closely with the course team, liaising between academic and administrative staff and students to ensure a high-quality learning experience. This will include an exciting opportunity to help shape course content via working with module leads and the course director team to align teaching content, and development of student-facing materials.

You will have key responsibilities along three general areas of work that involve close working with the MSc HSIE academic and administrative staff: student development and support, course content coordination, and teaching and assessment. These activities will involve daily attendance (or oversight of teaching assistants' in-person attendance) at MSc HSIE lectures and workshops to provide continuity in support for our students. You will be given the opportunity to work on this post alongside the development of independent research career up to 50% of your time, therefore, we will consider job shares or part time appointments (minimum of 50%) for this role.

It is essential that you are educated to postgraduate qualification level (a masters, or a doctorate) and have demonstrable depth and breadth of knowledge in the subject to develop course content and research proposals, as well as an aptitude for teaching.

Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will need to upload a supporting statement and CV. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience. Please restrict your documentation to your CV and supporting statement only. Any other documents will be requested at a later date.

This position is offered full time on a fixed term basis until 31 May 2028.

Only applications received before 12 midday on 10 July 2025 will be considered. Interviews are expected to be held during the week commencing 21 July 2025. Please quote 180350 on all correspondence.
