Job description

Teaching and Learning Practitioner - Level 3 (SEN Support) - Primary School Full-Time

Aspire People are currently working on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the Stoke area that is seeking to appoint a Teaching and Learning Practitioner - Level 3 to join their passionate and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

About the Role:
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children with SEN, working closely with class teachers and the school's SENCo. You will be responsible for delivering tailored interventions, supporting learning activities, and helping create a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting high-quality teaching and learning, both in-class and in small group or 1:1 settings.
- Assisting in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of lessons and interventions.
- Working closely with the class teacher/SENCo to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Helping to maintain accurate pupil records and SEN documentation.
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Supporting the use of IT across the curriculum.
- Supervising and supporting pupils during educational visits and external appointments.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safeguarding and GDPR regulations.

What We're Looking For:
- A relevant qualification at NVQ Level 2 (minimum), or working towards this.
- Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, proactive approach with a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
- A Level 1 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Willingness to be part of the wider school community (e.g. attending events, yard duties, etc.).
