Job description

Due to our continued success, we require a Teaching and Learning Manager (Tutor) to join our team. You will be responsible for the learners within your designated area, however, you may also be required to deliver online sessions to a national audience. The role requires the successful candidate to be based in London, Buckinghamshire or Berkshire although Oxford and Wiltshire are also a possibility as you will be responsible for a geographic area of learners in the London and South East areas. The key purpose of the Teaching and Learning Manager is to deliver the BTEC Level 2 TPD qualification to a consistent standard of excellence that exceeds the requirements of external stakeholders.

You will focus on delivery within a designated area as well as participating in national delivery sessions. You will be able to deliver in an engaging manner that supports the learner from registration through to certification, promoting good attendance and a successful outcome. You will be responsible for ensuring that each learner receives an excellent standard of support and guidance commensurate with their needs.

We are a UK wide charitable organisation within the vocational education and learning sector offering a range of training courses and we can offer a professional and welcoming team environment working in this remote role with our Head Office in Frimley, Surrey.

Youwill support your area Lead Teaching and Learning Manager in meeting the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework requirements with regards to delivery. You will become part of the Assessment team for the BTEC Level 2 TPD qualification and support the Curriculum Manager in maintaining the standard of assessment and feedback for the qualification. You will ensure that delivery meets and exceeds the qualification achievement rates and minimum standards set by Ofsted by developing new teaching strategies within the team to work proactively together to establish a culture of continuous improvement.

You will organise and lead delivery sessions within your designated area promoting a blended learning approach of face to face and online delivery ensuring that the needs of the learners are met. You will work with the other Teaching and Learning Managers to ensure that both local and national delivery sessions are held. Together with the Business Development team, you will support the recruitment of learners, maintaining existing working relationships with our established customer base and following up on leads provided by the Business Development team.

Main Duties:

  • Planning and delivery of the BTEC L2 TPD qualification
  • Ensure that delivery within your designated area meets the requirements of the Education Inspection Framework
  • Support and train volunteers in the delivery of the qualification, where applicable
  • Maintain a high standard of assessment within the team
  • Exceed the minimum levels of performance with qualification achievement rates
  • Monitor the attendance of learners at delivery sessions
  • Work closely with the LSS staff to monitor the progress of learners
  • Arrange delivery sessions, both face to face and online, using the most efficient and effective media
  • Be proficient in the use of our online VLE platform, Moodle.
  • Attend training, meetings, including standardisation meetings, as required
  • Work towards the core values set for the whole organisation

To be successful you should have the below skills and experience:-

Essential

  • Competency to deliver the BTEC Level 2 TPD qualification
  • Minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training Qualification
  • Ability to engage learners
  • Ability to meet targets
  • Ability to understand and manage data
  • Assessment experience
  • Experience/knowledge of Ofsted Inspection Framework
  • Ability to meet requirements of the Ofsted Inspection Framework
  • A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Level 4 Certificate or higher qualification in Education and Training
  • Knowledge and or experience of working in the charity sector
  • Knowledge and or experience of working in the education sector
  • Knowledge and or experience of working in voluntary sector
