Teachers of Keyboard/Piano, Voice, Ukulele/Guitar

£19,202 FTE (£21.16 per hour) - £39,172 FTE (£36.52 per hour) subject to work type and experience (Pay award Pending)

We are seeking teachers of Keyboard/Piano, Voice and Ukulele/Guitar to teach in individual, small group and whole class setting in September. From an initial start there is potential to grow teaching in schools and Music Centres both within Warwickshire and the wider Music Hub.

Warwickshire Music is the principal provider of music education in Warwickshire and is a lead organisation of the Heart of England Music Hub. We teach over 11,000 pupils each week and provide instrumental, vocal and class music teaching in schools, community music centres and provide a wide range of ensembles and music groups each week for children & young people across Warwickshire.

About the Roles

We require enthusiastic teachers of:

  • Ukulele /Guitar to teach pupils the Ukulele in whole class settings in North, East and Central Warwickshire Schools for up to 10 hours per week. For the right candidate there is also potential for additional guitar and rock group teaching at our Music Centres.
  • Voice to teach pupils in small group and individual lesson settings. Initially teaching for up to 6 hours per week in schools and Music Centres in East and Central Warwickshire.
  • Piano & Keyboard to teach pupils from beginner to advanced level. Initially teaching for up to 8 hours per week in schools and music centre settings principally in Central Warwickshire area.

The potential to undertake additional teaching opportunities in schools in Warwickshire and across the wider Heat of England Music Hub as part of these role may also be possible.

We welcome new applications to the instrumental teaching profession and can provide support and training to enable ongoing individual professional development, especially in group and whole class teaching practice. Knowledge of teaching more than one instrumental discipline is desirable but not essential. Applications from single disciplines also welcomed.

Our teachers are expected to be committed, enthusiastic musicians and teachers who can inspire pupils and communicate with clarity, conviction and sensitivity. You will be organised, skilled and confident in the use of technology, receptive to new ideas, ambitious for your own professional development and be able to work independently and as part of a team of professionals dedicated the musical development and safeguarding of children and young people.

Teacher Pay

Teacher pay is based upon hourly rates ranging from £21.16 to £31.60 per hour for group & individual instrumental teaching and music groups,and £36.52 per hour for whole class instrumental teaching depending on experience (pay award pending). Pay is annualised and paid as a monthly salary throughout the year. Teaching hours may increase or decrease through the year in response to demand. Travel expenses between schools are also paid, and our teaching roles benefit from membership of the Teacher Pension Scheme.
