Your new role

Supply teachers support schools during critical periods by providing specialised subject cover or general teaching assistance when regular staff are absent. These roles may vary in duration, with many temporary positions serving as pathways to permanent teaching roles. As a Hays Supply Teacher, you can choose your working days and decline roles that aren't suitable. You have the flexibility to work full-time, part-time, or on a flexible basis.

We collaborate with schools across Dartford, Gravesend, Medway, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Sittingbourne, Canterbury, Thanet, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, and Ashford. Long-term supply roles often lead to permanent positions, making supply teaching an excellent way to showcase your talent to local schools.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE, QTS, QTLS)
  • A minimum of 2 months' UK teaching experience in the past 4 years (including university placements)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Adherence to professional standards and a commitment to student development
  • The right to work in the UK
