A teacher who is not a principal shall carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require:
(a) A teacher employed as a teacher (other than a principal) in a school shall perform, in accordance with any directions which may be reasonably given to him/her by the principal from time to time, such particular duties as may reasonably be assigned to him/her.
(b) A teacher to whom paragraph 1(b) refers shall perform, in accordance with any direction which may reasonably be given to him/her from time to time by the board or by the principal of any school in which he/she may for the time being be required to work as a teacher, such particular duties as may reasonably be assigned to him/her.
3.1 Planning and preparing courses and lessons.
3.2 Teaching pupils according to their educational needs, including setting and marking work.
3.3 Assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' development, progress, and attainment.
4.1 Promoting the progress and well-being of pupils.
4.2 Providing advice and guidance on educational, social matters, and future careers, including relevant records and reports.
4.3 Making records of pupils' personal and social needs, where appropriate.
4.4 Communicating with parents and external bodies.
4.5 Participating in relevant meetings.
Providing assessments, reports, and references related to pupils, ensuring confidentiality where necessary.
Participating in staff development schemes and reviewing teaching methods and programmes.
Advising on course development and assessment methods.
Maintaining order and discipline, safeguarding health and safety, and participating in relevant meetings.
Preparing pupils for examinations, assessing, and supervising during exams.
Contributing to staff appointments, managing other teachers, and participating in curriculum and pastoral activities.
Managing administrative tasks, including attendance and support staff supervision.
Full-time teachers work 195 days per year, with specific hours and breaks outlined, including provisions for different school types.
Supervising pupils in the absence of their teachers, subject to school size and policies.
This job description is subject to review and may include other duties of similar nature, aligned with the grade.
