Job description

We are working with a highly successful primary school in the heart of Islington, who require an enthusiastic Teacher of the Deaf to work with pupils aged 4-11.

  • Mainstream Primary School
  • £200 - 275 per day; depending on experience level
  • Long-term supply role for academic year 2025-26

The school has a specialism and proud tradition for teaching and supporting children with Hearing Impairments. They require a QTS teacher to work across all year groups (Reception up to Year 6) from September 2025 onwards. You will be teaching students in small groups outside of mainstream classes and your commitment in the role will ensure high academic outcomes for your groups as well as supporting their personal development.

We are looking for a teacher who can:

  • Plan and teach highly effective lessons for students with Hearing Impairments
  • Nurture and support the emotional wellbeing of students with Hearing Impairments
  • Show a steadfast commitment to inclusion and become a key team player in assisting the school in meeting its commitments to SEND students

It is advantageous to your application that you have the mandatory qualification as a Teacher of the Deaf. We will also consider applications from qualified teachers who have recent experience of teaching deaf children and who are committed to completing the mandatory training in the near future.

The school has over 200 students and have been recently graded as GOOD by Ofsted. They have a number of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and you will play a lead role in teaching many of those children.
