About the role

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic subject specialist focused on modern manufacturing processes using CAD/CAM programs. You will encourage problem solving, decision making, and independence skills, promoting practical, investigative, and creative abilities across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.

The main purpose is to positively impact student achievement through planning and delivering high-quality lessons.

Main duties include:

  • Planning and preparing courses and lessons
  • Teaching according to students' educational needs, including setting and marking work
  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' development and attainment
  • Communicating with parents
  • Maintaining discipline and safeguarding students' health and safety

The school

The successful candidate will join a prestigious independent boarding and day school for boys, with over 250 students aged 7 to 13. You will provide pastoral support and participate in boarding life and extracurricular activities.

Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

  • PGCE (or equivalent) with QTS/QTLS
  • Outstanding subject knowledge in Engineering, Design, Technology, Computer Science, and Coding/Programming
  • Success in teaching coding, e.g., Raspberry Pi
  • The ability to promote these subjects to pupils and parents
  • A proven track record of success in education
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and teamwork
  • Ability to teach students at different levels of understanding
