Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job Purpose/about The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teacher to join our Support for Learning Team. We welcome applicants from across Primary, Secondary and ASN sectors. Experience with delivery of early level CfE and awareness and understanding of CfE ASN milestones would be advantageous.

To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional,

corporate life of the school in relation to pupils, staff and appropriate external bodies within the agreements of the SNCT

Responsibilities

Job Specific Requirements

Ability to teach the full range of timetabled courses in the subject area

Experience in the subject area, and of planning and assessment of pupil learning Classroom management skills

A knowledge of current issues and developments in curriculum

Experience of curriculum development

Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with staff, pupils and parents

Ability to manage effectively the learning and teaching of individual pupils, groups and classes

Ability to prioritise the work of the subject department

Proven organisational skills Ability to use appropriate interpersonal skills when relating to staff, pupils and parents

The Post Holder Needs To Hold As a Minimum

Appropriate teaching qualification

Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the appropriate subject/sector.
