Full Time

Currently, Midlothian has 6 secondary schools, 31 primary schools (19 with nurseries), and 4 standalone nursery schools. Our special school, Saltersgate, supports children with physical, social, emotional, behavioural, and learning difficulties. School sizes vary from around 50 to over 1600 pupils, serving diverse rural and urban catchments. We have a growing number of new build schools, with 15 primary and 2 secondary schools built in the last 10 years, and more planned.

Requirements

Pre-Employment Checks

Offers are conditional on satisfactory completion of medical screening, two references (one from your most recent employer), verification of qualifications, and eligibility to work in the UK. Registration with the General Teaching Council and a PVG check for work with children are essential.

Registration & PVG

Applicants for permanent posts must be registered with GTCS. This role is considered Regulated Work with Children under the PVG scheme. Successful candidates will need PVG membership or update prior to employment, with costs covered by the applicant, payable via salary deduction.

Disclosure of Offences
