Join Our Inspiring Social Studies Faculty – Teacher of Sociology, Health & Social Care, and Psychology

Are you passionate about shaping future citizens who think critically, care deeply, and contribute meaningfully to society? We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Sociology, Health & Social Care, and Psychology to join our thriving Social Studies faculty; a dynamic, diverse, and ambitious team committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Our faculty delivers an enriching curriculum that empowers students to explore and understand the complexities of the world around them. From analyzing social issues and British values to examining healthcare impacts and human psychology, our curriculum challenges learners to form and express informed opinions. We encourage engagement with real-world problems, such as caring for an aging population or solving the UK housing crisis.

We set high expectations, prioritize social responsibility, and foster curiosity. With strong uptake in GCSE and A-Level subjects like Sociology, Psychology, Business, Economics, Geography, and Health & Social Care, our department is central to the school community. Our recent focus includes improving high achievement through curriculum design and closing gaps for pupil premium students with a 'PP first' approach.

If you seek a professional environment where collaboration, innovation, and development are core values, we would love to hear from you.

While teaching all three subjects is beneficial, it is not mandatory.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be ambitious and passionate about teaching and student development.
  • Promote excellent outcomes for all students, regardless of ability.
  • Engage, enthuse, and motivate learners.
  • Work independently and collaboratively.
  • Deliver an inspiring and challenging curriculum.
  • Be reflective, resilient, and highly competent.

This is an exciting opportunity. We are part of Castle Phoenix Multi Academy Trust, which invests in staff development and aims for the best outcomes for students.

We offer:

  • Training and career development programs.
  • Well-resourced classrooms with technology, including iPads for staff and students.
  • A supportive team fostering innovation.
  • Benefits like cycle to work, free parking, staff discounts, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • A strong administrative support team.

Visit us or apply by contacting Stacy Hands. The application deadline is midday on Monday, 30 June 2025, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing 7 July 2025. If you haven't heard within two weeks, please assume your application was unsuccessful. We may close the vacancy early if filled quickly.

Note: An online search and DBS check are part of our safeguarding procedures. All posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and employment is conditional upon a satisfactory police record check. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
